The Backstory
There are evil forces that have been around since the beginning of time. In the Bible, the evil serpent tempted Adam and Eve to disobey God. As a result of this sin, death was introduced into the world. Sin, which comes from evil spiritual forces, creates a separation from God.
God is Holy, which means set apart, and cannot exist harmoniously with sin. In order to repair the separation, the broken relationship, that sin has created between God and Man, we must have a bridge or a mediator that connects us, or provides a way back to God.
That mediator's name is Jesus. He supernaturally steps in to fill in the gap that has been created as a result of our own sin. He paid the price of our sin which is death, in full, by dying on the cross and by rising again on the third day.
Jesus said that I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly. - John 10: 10. He gives life and freedom. This freedom comes from what Jesus did by dying on the cross and being raised from the dead. There is power in what he did. The power comes by believing in your heart, and professing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. This is not a magic word to be used to get what you want whenever you want something. However, when you do this, you personally introduce the power of the name of Jesus into your life. He will free you from your sin, and defeat the evil forces that are present in your life today.
The evil forces that have been defeated by the authority and power in the name of Jesus can still be present in our world today. They are not dead, however seek to gain back the ground they lost to God. Evil can and does show up in many ways. Pride, greed, lust, envy, overindulgence, hatred, and laziness, to name a few.
If any of these forces are impacting your life today, you are not alone. The bible says that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
There is an answer. An answer that unlocks freedom from these evil forces that may be dominating your life right now. That answer is Jesus.
All you have to do is believe and to ask him into your heart. Once you do this the Holy Spirit, who is God, will come to live in your heart. It is through the Holy Spirit that you can start and continue to live a life of freedom and transformation. That does not mean that you will not have problems in life or that your life will be perfect. If fact, Jesus tells us clearly that we will have tribulation or problems in our lives. He also goes on to tell us that He has overcome the world.
Jesus overcoming the world, means that you now have access to the power of the Holy Spirit, which is God living within, you to defeat the evil forces that have always existed and may be currently reigning in your life. It also means that you will have eternal life with the creator of the Universe in Heaven after you die.
It was accomplished on The Cross!
Without Jesus, we would all be condemned to an eternal death, not just on this earth but also in eternity.
Victory!
Jesus shed his blood on the cross to pay for the sins of you and I. His blood is the atoning work for sin in our lives.
The work is already done. It was done by Jesus on the cross approximately 2,000 years ago. All you have to do to access this power is by believing, speaking his name, and asking him into your heart. You can do this at any time, at any moment, and there is no better time than right now to say Yes and to pray.
